About the Chevrolet Silverado EV

Chevrolet Silverado EV

The Chevrolet Silverado EV raises the bar for electric pickups in a serious way. Not only is it powerful, but it offers incredible range and a supremely comfortable cabin. It comes with a 5-foot 11-inch bed while the innovative Multi-Flex Midgate and split-folding back seats make it possible to extend that length to 10-feet 10-inches. The massive battery pack can deliver up to 478 miles on certain configurations. Trail Boss models pack plenty of punch with up to 725 horsepower and 775 lb-ft of torque. If those numbers aren't impressive enough, the 800-volt architecture allows for DC fast charging up to 300 kW which is well above average charging rates for electric vehicles. The electric drivetrain even allows the Silverado EV to offer features that aren't possible with conventional trucks. One such example is Sidewinder, a system that lets you steer all four wheels in the same direction for sideways motion.

What the Critics Say

"More than a novelty, the Silverado EV brings considerable range, fast charging, and payload and towing figures that are within spitting distance of the standard Silverado." - Car and Driver

"On the highway, the Silverado Trail Boss impressed me with most of the same strengths as its LT relative. It's a comfortable place to be, with plentiful power, and GM's SuperCruise advanced driver-assistance system offers more tech-focused EV buyers the level of autonomy they expect." - Road & Track

What's New for 2026

A number of impressive changes have been made to the Chevrolet Silverado EV for the new model year. New for 2026 is the Silverado EV Trail Boss - an off-road-oriented trim level that offers great features like large all-terrain tires, unique exterior styling cues, and a dedicated Terrain drive mode setting. Since the RST trim has been discontinued, the Trail Boss is now the top-tier trim of the Silverado EV. Rounding out the list of changes, the popular Super Cruise system benefits from a number of software upgrades while the previously available Adaptive Air Suspension is no longer available for 2026.

Chevrolet Silverado EV Features

Chevrolet Silverado EV Performance

All-Electric Power

There is no configuration of the Chevrolet Silverado EV that isn't massively powerful. Even the base Custom trim produces power that rivals even the most muscular version of the conventional Silverado 1500. Power ratings are broken down by trim level, with the Custom producing up to 490 horsepower and 580 lb-ft of torque and the LT producing up to 760 horsepower and 765 lb-ft of torque. Another impressive feature is its advanced e4WD system that offers enhanced control at all speeds. Improving maneuverability at low speeds and stability at high speeds, the revolutionary four-wheel steer capability of the Silverado EV is particularly useful in a full-size truck application. Its EV powertrain helps create the usable front trunk, further increasing the cargo-carrying abilities of this remarkable truck. Trail Boss trim levels also come standard with the Chevrolet Advanced Trailering System, proving confidence and reassurance when towing heavy equipment with your Silverado EV.

Chevrolet Silverado EV Charging

Incredible Capability

All the power and range of the Chevrolet Silverado EV is certainly remarkable. However, a truck needs to be able to do truck things. Fortunately, the Silverado EV excels at truck things. It comes with a maximum towing capacity of 12,500 pounds which is more than competing conventional trucks like the Ram 1500. It's also more than Ford's EV pickup, the F-150 Lightning. Additional unique functionality features include the available Sidewinder, a system that lets you turn all four wheels in the same direction for diagonal movement. There is also the Multi-Flex Midgate that allows you to extend the bed into the cabin by folding down the back seats. Overall length can reach nearly 11 feet. Along with the huge battery is the available PowerBase feature that offers the ability to plug in and power some serious equipment at the job site, campsite, or wherever else you might need it. You can even take advantage of the range reserve feature which cuts off power at a predetermined level so you always have enough charge left to get home.

Chevrolet Silverado EV Technology

Advanced Technology

The technology that goes into the GM battery platform, which the Chevrolet Silverado EV is built on, is absolutely incredible and cutting edge. But the impressive technology in the Silverado EV doesn't end there. For all of your infotainment needs, there is a huge 17.7-inch touchscreen which makes using the many impressive features on the Silverado EV easy. The available 11-inch Driver Information Display and available 14-inch head-up display provide you with critical information as you drive. Super Cruise is available and is included as standard on the Trail Boss trim. This is a hands-free version of cruise control that lets you take your hands off the wheel and let the vehicle take over, letting you arrive at your destination relaxed and alert. There is even a towing feature, making long towing trips a lot easier to deal with behind the wheel of the Chevrolet Silverado EV.
