About The Chevrolet Silverado EV

The Silverado EV raises the bar for electric pickups in a serious way, not only is it powerful, but it offers incredible range and a supremely comfortable cabin. It comes with a 5'11" bed, but the innovative Multi-Flex Midgate and split-folding back seats make it possible to extend that length to 10'10". The massive battery pack can deliver up to 492 miles on certain configurations, and RST models pack 760 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque. And if those numbers aren't impressive enough, the 800-volt architecture allows for DC fast charging up to 300 kW, well above average charging rates for electric vehicles. The electric drivetrain even allows the Silverado EV to offer features that aren't possible with conventional trucks, such as Sidewinder, a system that lets you steer all four wheels in the same direction for sideways motion.
What the Critics Say
"Chevy engineers say they took strides to make their battery-powered truck drive like the gas one. But that didn't come across in our drive and the electric Silverado is better for it. The EV's unibody structure and four-corner independent suspension tame the busy ride of an unloaded, nose-heavy body-on-frame truck. Armed with air springs and adaptive dampers and helped by near-even weight distribution, the electric Silverado handles with the carlike competence of a crossover." - MotorTrend
"Yes, the 2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV is a good electric pickup truck. It boasts a relaxed ride and eager acceleration, and it's available in configurations that range from basic to plush. It also travels farther on a full charge than most electric vehicles." - U.S. News & World Report
What's New for 2025
For 2025 Chevrolet made a few tweaks to the still very new Silverado EV model. To start with, a Standard Range battery has been added to the option list, while the maximum range has also been increased to 492 miles. Towing and payload ratings have both been increased as well, and Chevrolet has added an LT trim, which sits between the existing WT and RST trims.
Chevrolet Silverado EV Features

All-Electric Power
There is no configuration of the Silverado EV that isn't massively powerful. Even the base Work Truck trim produces more power than any engine available in the conventional Silverado 1500. Power ratings are broken down by trim level, with the Work Truck producing 510 horsepower and 580 lb-ft of torque, and the LT producing 645 horsepower and 765 lb-ft of torque. The RST has two different ratings, depending on which battery pack you go for. With the Extended Range you get 645 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque, while the Max Range pack gives you 760 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque. The Max Range battery is available for the Work Truck too, but in this case, it doesn't produce more power, just the incredible 492-mile maximum range. And thanks to the 800-volt battery architecture, you can get DC fast charging rates of up to 300 kW, roughly double the rate most EVs are capable of.

Incredible Capability
All the power and range of the Silverado EV is great and everything, but a truck needs to be able to do truck things too. Fortunately, the Silverado EV excels at truck things. It comes with a maximum towing capacity of 12,500 pounds, which is more than competing conventional trucks like the Ram 1500. It's also more than Ford's EV pickup, the F-150 Lightning. Additional unique functionality features include available Sidewinder, a system that lets you turn all four wheels in the same direction for diagonal movement. There is also the Multi-Flex Midgate, which lets you extend the bed into the cabin by folding down the back seats. Overall length can reach nearly 11 feet. And along with the huge battery is the available PowerBase feature, which lets you plug in and power some serious equipment at the job site, campsite, or wherever else you might need it. You can even take advantage of the range reserve feature, which cuts off power at a predetermined level, so you always have enough charge left to get home.

Advanced Technology
The technology that goes into the Ultium platform, which the Silverado EV is built on, is absolutely incredible and cutting edge, but the impressive technology in the Silverado EV doesn't end there. For all of your infotainment needs, there is a huge 17.7-inch touchscreen, which makes using the many impressive features on the Silverado EV easy. The available 11-inch Driver Information Display and available 14-inch head-up display provide you with critical information as you drive. Super Cruise is available, and even standard on the RST trim. This is a hands-free version of cruise control that lets you take your hands off the wheel and let the vehicle take over, letting you arrive at your destination relaxed and alert. There is even a towing feature, making long towing trips a lot easier to deal with. And of course, we can't forget that the available Air Ride Adaptive Suspension delivers an exceptionally smooth ride no matter the surface.
