About The Chevrolet Equinox EV
The Equinox EV is everything that you love about the conventional Equinox, but without the trips to the gas station. This compact electric SUV offers one of the best price-to-range ratios of any electric vehicle on the market, as the lowest-priced 315+-mile EV you can buy. The Equinox comes with a choice of two different all-electric drivetrains, a front-wheel drive option to maximize range, and a more powerful all-wheel drive option. The interior is spacious, with a tech-forward approach that really shows off what's cutting edge about the Equinox EV. Google built-in gives you easy and familiar control over a powerful infotainment system. And the impressive tech also makes the Equinox EV an incredibly safe choice for everyone.
What the Critics Say
"Fortunately, we felt a sense of satisfaction on the open highway, where the Equinox EV is at its best. That's due in part to its settled and composed ride on the interstate but more to the available Super Cruise hands-free driving system. Our appreciation for GM's ingenious technology is no secret, and its application in the Equinox EV eases the strain of long-haul driving." - MotorTrend
"There's a lot to like here, which is not something I ever expected to say about any Equinox. But this electric one is smooth, comfy, and incredibly quiet. I think the most impressive part of the Equinox EV is its ride quality, though. It rounds out bumps nicely without ever feeling floaty, which isn't easy with 4,902 pounds (not counting the driver, who tipped its scale further past 5,000 pounds than he'd like to admit) to carry around." - YahooAutos
What's New for 2025
For 2025, the Equinox EV got a bump in power, 7 more horsepower for front-wheel drive models, and 12 more for all-wheel drive, yet both maintained the same range estimates. Chevrolet also changed the trim lineup, cutting it down to two trims with a wider variety of options and packages, letting buyers opt for features they want without paying for those they don't.
Chevrolet Equinox EV Features
All-Electric Efficiency
The Equinox EV is built on the GM Ultium platform, which is built with the absolute cutting edge of technology to deliver incredible efficiency. There is a choice of two different drivetrains for the Equinox EV, with both available across the trim lineup. The front-wheel drive option delivers 220 horsepower and the Equinox EV's maximum range of 319 miles. If you want a bit more power, and/or the security of all-wheel drive, that option comes with 300 horsepower and a still very impressive 285-mile range. The Equinox EV comes with 11.5 kW Level 2 charging, but AWD models have the option of upgrading to 19.2 kW. And DC fast charging is capable of reaching 150 kW, allowing you to add 70 miles of range in just 10 minutes.
Stylish Practicality
There are plenty of boring-looking compact SUVs out there with space for your groceries, but there's no harm in looking good while hauling your weekly shopping. The Equinox EV offers a maximum of 57.2 cubic feet of cargo space with the back seats folded down, or comfortable seating for five with them up. Creature comforts are extensive, and options include things like heated seats, front and rear, dual-zone climate control, wireless phone charging, and a standard remote start function that lets you get the cabin to a comfortable temperature before you get in. The RS trim adds a bit of additional style with black side mirrors, badges, and wheels. There are several different options for the interior, including optional blue or red accents, and there are paint colors like Riptide Blue Metallic and Habanero Orange that are sure to turn heads.
Advanced Technology
The advanced drivetrain might be the technological centerpiece of the Equinox EV, but it's far from the only impressive bit of technology you get with this EV. One piece that's hard to miss is the large 17.7-inch infotainment touchscreen, which features Google built-in for easy-to-use and familiar controls and apps. Safety tech in the Equinox EV is well ahead of the curve, and includes features that are optional extras or not available at all on competing compact SUVs, including Reverse Automatic Braking, Blind Zone Steering Assist, Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking, Rear Park Assist, and many more optional features. It also has available Super Cruise, a hands-free form of cruise control that lets you take your hands off the wheel and let the vehicle handle the driving while you relax.
